I can’t tell you all how humbled and appreciative I am of the support I received from the first photo of this series that I uploaded a few days ago. Even though I have been shooting self-portraits for the past six years (holy crap, where does the time go), this type of self-portraiture is truly the most vulnerable I have shared with anyone; it is scary and liberating all at the same time.
It’s interesting to note that looking at this photo and the other one I shared, I can see that I’m still hiding somewhat; I’m using my own body to cover myself, my face is hidden for the most part. And that’s okay. That in itself is expressing a feeling, an emotion. No matter where you’re from and what language you speak, body language is universal. Photography is universal.
